Odin Hills - Latest Luxury Hanazono Niseko Development Project

How did you first discover Niseko and what got you started in property development?

My Odin partners, Bjorn & Chris Fjelddahl & I, came on a boys’ ski trip over 20 years ago and immediately fell in love with Niseko. I ended up buying the hotel where we stayed, and together we started the Odin Boutique property development company. We have since built/renovated and operated Kimamaya by Odin, The Barn by Odin (restaurant), Odin Place (retail), Yasuragi by Odin (apartment), and a few luxury Villas.

Can you tell us what inspired the Odin Hills concept?

Two friends of mine, Derek & Yang, who had bigger ambitions, convinced us to start the Odin Hills project with them. What inspired us is the natural beauty of the land, which allows us to create a unique master planned project with an incredible natural environment.

And now Odin Hills is a 16-hectare master-planned estate situated only a minute’s drive from the Hanazono ski lifts. The estate has sweeping views of Mount Yotei and the surrounding countryside.  Buyers have the option to build their own dream home within an exclusive alpine village or buy one of the 4 Villa designed by Pritzker Prize winning architect Shigeru Ban.

Odin Hills will have its own clubhouse with onsen facilities, all-day dining and exclusive facilities for Odin Hills owners.

What do you see next for the Niseko market in general?

We are expecting the market to rebound strongly now that travel restrictions are lifted, especially for land & houses. Being in Hanazono close to the Hanazono resort, as well as Kutchan township, with the upcoming arrival of the bullet train, we are extremely confident in the Hanazono property market.
